APEX RECORDS was founded in 1996 by psychologist/musician George Gamez, Ph.D. In spite of having a small budget and limited resources, we have managed to secure some licensing deals in Asia. At this point, George Gamez is the sole artist on the label. Although we are not actively looking for new talent, Apex does not exclude the possibility of adding a new artist in the World Music, Latin and/or New Age Genres. We are also looking into joint ventures with other labels, distributors or related businesses to expand our operations. Anyone interested should contact gg@georgegamez.com.
Apex has released four CDs by George Gamez. His eponymous album titled “Lightning Strikes Again” was released in 1996 and “Between 2 Worlds” in 1999. He has followed these excellent productions with two new projects. “In the Realm of Flamenco” is a must for nylon string guitar enthusiasts and “Rhythms of the Heart” is dedicated to those who love romantic love songs. His recordings reflect his virtuosity on the guitar and his multicultural background. These are a fusion of flamenco and Latin rhythms together with original songs in Spanish and English.
George has had a dual career for most of his adult life starting his musical journey as a teenager and practicing psychology for over twenty years. He is the author of Creativity: How to Catch Lightning in a Bottle and Self Hypnosis for Health and Personal Growth.
George is a guitarist/singer/songwriter who has produced his own solo albums. As such he can be categorized not only as a composer/artist but as a producer as well. From his beginnings in Latin music and early training in flamenco guitar, to the present influences of World music, George has developed an original style unlike any flamenco fusion on the market today. His innovative compositions and stellar guitar playing will change the way you feel about Contemporary World Music. Breaking new ground and bringing together diverse cultures, this international artist brings to his music a vision that is truly global.
As a psychologist, George also has produced Self Help Tapes in both English and Spanish. These are also under the Apex label and we are looking for distribution for these products as well.
Apex markets George Gamez' CDs through radio/TV interviews, direct mailings, speaking/playing engagements, public performances, club dates, advertising, seminars, workshops, and Internet listings. George also presents his works on cable TV. He hosts "The George Gamez Show" in Los Angeles on cable TV.
